WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING ABOUT BETSY
ON LEGALLY BLONDE AT VILLAGE THEATRE:
“Stewart is everything we need Elle to be. She’s bubbly, with a killer voice and dance moves, and she absolutely looks the part… any Elle performance rests on the numbers ‘What You Want’ and ‘So Much Better’ as they require a true triple threat… Stewart manages all three beautifully.” -Broadway World
“Betsy Stewart successfully brought her childhood hero Elle Woods to life with her charismatic and flamboyant acting… funny and quick-witted in some moments, cute and quirky in others, with an impressive wide vocal range and expressive dance gestures… she embodied a nostalgic sense of girlhood that existed beyond the stage, reaching as far as the many young girls and women in the audience.” -The Daily
“Betsy is a wonderful vocalist and carries Elle’s personality through in her music… She does very well as a lead during the ensemble numbers like ‘What You Want’ or ‘So Much Better.’” -The Sound on Stage
“Betsy Stewart’s Elle… maintains the character’s charm even when she’s at her sappiest.” -The Seattle Times
ON CRUEL INTENTIONS: THE 90'S MUSICAL
(FIRST NATIONAL TOUR):
"Betsy Stewart upends any expectations of who the religious Annette should be, stating her convictions with confident power rather than mere naivety. Stewart's assuredness prevents Annette from becoming just another victim to Sebastian's machinations, and-when she decides she might be falling for him after all-there is no doubt that this is a choice she has made for herself. Perhaps this is why her character gets some of the most iconic girl power ballads from the decade, including a triumphantly cocky performance of 'Just a Girl.'"- Broadway World
"The touring cast is strong, particularly Betsy Stewart channeling Reese Witherspoon”- San Antonio Current
“Betsy Stewart, as the virgin Betsy Stewart, cleverly avoids the temptation to reduce her ingénue to a stereotype. There is a wiliness to her young character.”- The Bristol Observer
“...Betsy Stewart, who is a striking doppelgänger for the original Annette Hargrove, played on film by Reese Witherspoon. They have believable chemistry that sparks on stage and lends weight to the twist of the story.”- TheaterJones North Texas Performing Arts News
“Lovely Betsy Stewart, a dead-ringer for the movie’s Reese Witherspoon, is sweet, yet high-spirited and stalwart as Annette."- Chicago Theatre & Concert Reviews
ON HOODED, OR BEING BLACK FOR DUMMIES AT ECHO THEATRE COMPANY:

ON SPRING AWAKENING AT MARRIOTT THEATRE:

"the golden-voiced Betsy Stewart"- Chicago Sun Times
